Rocky Mountain Ranches, Ltd. is excited to offer world-class mountain lion hunting in Northwest Colorado. Our Colorado mountain lion hunts are conducted on some of the finest cat territory in the State, in the Craig-Steamboat Springs area. These hunts are on our private elk hunting properties in units 13 and 131. The high country and moderate elk ranches offer excellent habitat and continually provide quality lion hunting year after year. Guided hunts are also the best way to greatly increase your odds of a successful mountain lion hunt.
Rocky Mountain Ranches courteous and knowledgeable guide(s) will pick hunters up in the morning and take them out on the hunt each day. There will be one guide for 1-2 hunters. This provides each client with a fun and enjoyable hunting experience. Our guides do not focus on trophy hunting, but instead help hunters tree a cat and make a ethical shot.
Typically our guides will utilize side by sides to travel around the ranches, but ATV’s or snowmobiles may be needed in some situations. Our hounds are all equipped with the latest GPS technology to allow us to get to the treed lion in the most efficient way possible.
Mountain lion tags are available over the counter, so book your hunt today. Rocky Mountain Ranches will start lion hunting in late November or early December and run until the units are closed due to quotes being full. Food and lodging is not included in the price of this hunt so please plan accordingly. *Note that all Mountain Lion Hunters in Colorado must have a mountain lion education certificate.
